My name is Kelly Williams but most people know me as Ace. I will be writing my blog for Abby Glenn~A Quiet Cove regarding helpful maintenance tips and tricks you can do yourself.
At the end I’ve included a helpful tip regarding your garbage disposal, but to start out, I thought I would tell you a little about myself and some of the upcoming improvements we are planning for the 2nd half of 2014.
So about myself: I have been in the construction and maintenance field for 18 years and I’ve worked for Abby Glenn~A Quiet Cove for almost 4 years. I have 5 children and have lived in the Madison County area going on 7 years. I also volunteer with the Madison Animal Rescue Foundation (MARF). My wife and I have 9 dogs, 2 cats, and we are currently fostering 2 dogs. We love our pets!
Here at Abby Glenn~A Quite Cove we are continually trying to improve our property to make it a fantastic place to live. Our latest upgrade over the next several weeks will be soft close hinges on all cabinet doors. These hinges will help prevent the cabinet doors from slamming, making Abby Glenn a “Quieter” Cove! I will also be installing new braided ice maker supply lines and new icemaker water valves. This will help prevent the possibility of significant water leaks.
Before I sign off, here’s my quick tip for garbage disposals:
To help keep odors at bay in your disposal all you need is 2 lemon wedges and 2 handfuls of ice (10-12 cubes). Put them in the garbage disposal and run the disposal with water until the ice is gone. The lemon is to neutralize odors and the ice acts as a scouring pad. You can do this once a month or even every couple of weeks. Just try not to add too much of either item, too much ice at once can freeze it up for a short time.
Remember, if you have a maintenance request you can enter those on your tenant portal directly from our website 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However, if there is anything the staff at Abby Glenn~A Quiet Cove can do for you please do not hesitate to call, email or even stop by. We will be happy to help.
